Civic Emergency Fund Activated: Support for Civil Society in the Region
The Civic Emergency Fund has officially been activated as a mechanism to provide rapid, flexible, and targeted support to civil society actors who are exposed to threats, pressure, or other forms of risk due to their work.
It is intended for organizations and activists operating in the region Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia, and Serbia, where civil society is increasingly facing pressure, restrictions, and security risks.
Emergency support when it is needed most
The Fund enables the rapid allocation of resources to respond to urgent security, legal, digital, and psychosocial challenges, as well as other forms of pressure and risk that may jeopardize the work of organizations and informal groups, the safety of activists, or the continuity of their activities.
The support is flexible and tailored to the specific needs of civil society actors in crisis situations, with the aim of mitigating risks and enabling them to continue their work.
Strengthening the resilience of civil society
The Fund exists to help organizations, groups, and activists continue operating when pressures become too great to manage on their own.
The Civic Emergency Fund is a joint initiative of the Trag Foundation and the Kosovo Civil Society Foundation (KCSF), established to provide support to civil society in the region.
