What is Act&Impact?
In many local communities across Serbia, citizens recognize problems and want to solve them,
but lack the support, resources, and space for action. This is precisely the gap that the project
“Act&Impact: Local Action for Civic Initiatives” seeks to fill, with the goal of sparking a
powerful wave of local activism and strengthening civil society organizations.
The project focuses on areas of public interest – environmental protection and social inclusion
to government transparency and citizens’ participation in decision-making. Through training programs,
mentoring and exchange of experiences, hundreds of activists will be trained to develop and implement
initiatives adapted to the real needs of the local community.
Financial support will be realized through grants for at least 20 local initiatives, which will directly involve more than 3,000 citizens in solving specific problems.
In addition, ten organizations will develop strategic initiatives aimed at transparency and accountability of local authorities. As part of these initiatives, local fundraising campaigns will be organized, the results of which will be
additionally supported through the match-funding mechanism in the amount of at least 30,000 euros.
A special novelty is a digital platform for peer-to-peer donations, which will enable citizens and local actors to directly support initiatives in their environment. This mechanism aims to developing a culture of philanthropy and reducing the dependence of organizations on external donors.
The project also builds collaborative networks through “communities of practice” – platforms for knowledge exchange
between organizations, institutions, media and the private sector. More than 500 participants are expected at
public events, where partnerships for essential changes will be created through dialogue.
