Snažnije zajedno – 14 New Organizations Selected!
The participatory selection process for the Snažnije zajedno (Stronger Together) program has successfully concluded!
Thanks to the dedication of our Advisory Board members, we selected 14 organizations from Bosnia and Herzegovina (5), Montenegro (3), and Serbia (6). In the coming months, these organizations will implement initiatives that advance women’s rights, address violence, and build more just and supportive communities.
This year, we chose initiatives tackling various issues—from child marriage prevention and human trafficking, to mental health, emotional abuse, feminist organizing, and empowerment through art.
Each organization will receive up to $10,000 in support and 12 months to implement their project.
Supported Projects
Bosnia and Herzegovina
- Zemlja djece (Tuzla)
This project supports Roma and other socially vulnerable girls in finishing primary school, enrolling in secondary school, and taking their first steps toward lives free from violence and economic dependence. Through year-long mentorship, girls will receive learning support, guidance on personal development, health and gender equality, and career counseling. The project also works with parents and teachers to prevent early marriages and foster safer, more encouraging environments for girls to grow up in. - Generacije (Bosanska Krupa)
This initiative raises awareness of hidden forms of violence against women, gender-based exploitation, and the importance of mental health—particularly in rural areas. It provides psychotherapy workshops, creative activities, and public awareness campaigns to help women build self-awareness and resilience. The project connects women’s organizations and institutions, strengthens cooperation, and promotes a zero-tolerance culture for violence through parenting education and resources on mental well-being. - LI-Woman (Livno)
Focused on empowering women who experience psychological abuse in relationships—including women living with cancer—this project offers tools to recognize abuse patterns, build assertiveness, and express emotions. Through workshops, art therapy, support groups, and physical activities, women will gain confidence to advocate for themselves. The project also partners with professionals and institutions to raise visibility and address emotional abuse more seriously within the community. - Podrinjka (Srebrenica)
Targeting rural Eastern Bosnia, this project helps women identify, report, and prevent emotional abuse in families and intimate partnerships. Women at risk of violence will receive training, digital literacy education, and mentorship to build skills and gain economic independence. By bringing together women of various ages and backgrounds, the project fosters solidarity and builds a community that recognizes and takes action against psychological violence. - Priroda Bratunac (Bratunac)
This initiative empowers rural women through education on rights, laws, social and economic issues, and active community engagement. Women will take part in workshops and receive support to launch their own initiatives, becoming visible agents of local change. By involving local authorities and the media, the project strengthens a sustainable women’s movement and advocates for institutional support of women-led initiatives.
Montenegro
- Poligon za žensku izuzetnost – Sofija (Berane)
Working in the Talum and Riverside settlements, this project supports Roma women who often face domestic violence, exploitation, and discrimination. Through home visits, workshops, and counseling, the initiative aims to inform and empower at least 100 women to recognize abuse, access protection mechanisms, and seek legal support. The project also promotes the creation of the first Roma women’s organization in the area and encourages women to lead public campaigns to protect their rights and dignity. - ŠkArt (Podgorica)
This initiative creates a feminist collective that uses somatic practices, art, and an intersectional approach to help women and marginalized groups reclaim their bodies as sources of strength, resistance, and political power. Through workshops, collaborative learning, and safe spaces, the project supports survivors of violence, activists, artists, and young women new to the feminist movement. - Nova Žena (Bijelo Polje)
This project supports women with disabilities who face domestic and partner violence by providing free legal, psychological, and advisory assistance. Educational workshops, resource materials, and collaboration with institutions help these women gain independence and confidence to recognize and report abuse. The project also works with partners and family members and engages the broader community through the “16 Days of Activism” campaign.
Serbia
- Tampon zona (Belgrade)
Through the interactive podcast series “Tell Me About Love”, this project explores subtle forms of psychological violence in relationships, especially among young women. With six episodes featuring psychologists and listeners’ personal stories, the initiative raises awareness of control and manipulation patterns that often go unnoticed. By building a supportive online space through social media, the project encourages women to recognize abuse and take steps toward change. - Bestseler (Belgrade)
This project addresses gender-based violence in football in Serbia and Montenegro. By training players and coaches and promoting best practices in football clubs, the initiative aims to make sports safer for women and girls. It applies feminist principles to promote gender equality and create long-term support systems for female athletes. - Parnas (Novi Sad)
The “Seize the Film – About Women with Disabilities” project uses art and education to build a more inclusive feminist movement, focusing on the multiple discriminations faced by women and girls with disabilities. Through film screenings, discussions, workshops, and inclusive youth events, the initiative challenges prejudice and increases awareness of accessibility. It highlights the voices of women with disabilities and promotes their active involvement in feminist and social initiatives. - Uspešne žene Kostolca (Kostolac)
This project combats child marriage and empowers women through education and community-based support. A three-day festival and workshops with survivors of child marriage will offer girls the knowledge and support to recognize abuse and understand their rights. The project brings together activists, institutions, and marginalized women to create a community where girls can choose their own futures freely. - Sačuvajmo selo (Priboj)
In a border municipality where rural women and children are especially vulnerable, this initiative focuses on preventing human trafficking. By educating parents and children on how to identify risks, the project strengthens the community’s ability to act at the first signs of trafficking and exploitation. Special attention goes to children who travel outside their town for schooling, and the project raises community awareness about an issue that has so far been largely overlooked in the local context. - Bubnjarke sa ulice (Belgrade)
This project empowers women from smaller towns and multiply marginalized groups through drumming, art, and feminist activism. It provides a safe space for creative expression, connection, and collective action through workshops and women’s drumming circles. The initiative strengthens the Bubnjarke sa ulice collective and forges regional connections with similar groups, building solidarity and fostering an art-driven feminist movement.
Once again, we received an impressive number of applications this year, and our Advisory Board—composed of representatives from leading regional organizations—faced a challenging task in selecting just 14 initiatives. In the next phase, all supported organizations will take part in online trainings in financial and project management and will have the chance to connect, share experiences, and build a strong community of mutual support.
We invite you to follow the progress of these initiatives and hope their work will bring the support, strength, and change needed—right where it matters most.
We also call on the feminist community, allies, institutions, and everyone committed to a fairer society to support these efforts—by sharing their work, collaborating, and standing in solidarity.
The Snažnije zajedno program is implemented by Trag Foundation with the support of the Oak Foundation.
