2017
The 20th birthday of the Trag Foundation and the Active Community program was celebrated.
The VIRTUS Award for philanthropy was awarded for the tenth time.
The fifth National Forum for Green Ideas was organized.
A large fund-raising campaign for the Endowment Fund has been completed, and work on it, as an important part of Trag’s financial sustainability, has continued.
Trag and NCD hired a research team to prepare a study on the attitudes of citizens from different spheres towards the European Union. The study made key conclusions: the EU integration process is far from local communities, and the Government does not have a clear strategy for their inclusion in the negotiations. Decentralization is a key precondition for successful EU integration and inclusive reforms, while organizations lack specific knowledge for communicating with local authorities and protecting citizens’ interests.
With the support of the EU, 6 local hubs were opened.
The Info Park managed by the Trag Foundation was registered as an independent organization at the end of the year. Trag remains an active donor and supporter, as well as part of the organization’s Board of Directors.
