Association “Na pola puta” has been providing support to people with intellectual disabilities and their families for years, with the aim of providing them with the highest possible quality of life and inclusion in the community. During the state of emergency, the users of the association were forced not to leave their apartments and see their parents, guardians and friends for more than a month. Due to the specific needs of the users, their needs for movement and a lack of understanding of the new situation, numerous challenges arose.

Support, help and advice

Thanks to funds from the Endowment Fund, the Trag Foundation was able to provide uninterrupted support throughout the day, transportation for its assistants and hire additional staff for regular supplies of necessary supplies. All users, during the state of emergency and after its abolition, had designed time spent participating in online creative, fitness and music workshops.

In addition to a well-organized time, online workshops helped them to see their friends after a long time and make social contacts, learn something new to do and get physically active, considering that they spent time passively in their homes.

In addition to handing out gift vouchers, the project team regularly made phone calls with families, primarily interested in the health status of the entire beneficiary families, their difficulties and circumstances, and advised them on what activities they could do in the apartment.
