Welcome to Topli do

Topli do is a small community in the central part of the Balkan Mountains, famous for the struggle of the local population against the construction of small hydropower plants.

Over time, Topli do, which has no more than 50 inhabitants, mostly elderly people, is becoming more and more attractive to young people. Young people return to the village and actively contribute to the reconstruction of the village by reconstructing houses and other buildings, restarting cultural life and trying to make it more attractive for tourists. Donations from the Active Communities program enabled the association “Ja volim Topli do” to implement a project aimed at marking hiking trails on the way to the natural beauty of the Balkan Mountains.

Now three footpaths are marked with information boards so that everyone who visits this area can move through it more easily and safely. The signposts are clear and provide enough information to anyone heading to the waterfalls and allow travelers to truly enjoy the beauty of the Donji and Gornji Piljki, Vurnja waterfalls, Čunguljski and Kurltski waterfalls.
